Day 1:  Aug. 24, 2022      (10am-12pm)
Today we talked about recruiting. I shared my story of my recruitment in high school and the 15 college offers I received. We discussed how I went on college visits, coaches doing home visits, and my family and friends having a get together where I announced my choice. Omar explained how to check players' eligibility and transfer eligibility. He sends emails to prospective athletes in Ohio; he changes states each week. He is available for athletes to help them navigate the recruiting process, answer questions they have, and procedures they must follow.

Day 2: Aug. 30, 2022    (10am-12pm)
I helped Omar send out recruiting emails to athletes in Michigan and Illinois. We watched potential athletes' online films, read over stats, scrolled through social media pages, and made lists of potential candidates based on their interest, and other communications they've had with Tiffin University. 
Day 3: August 31, 2020    (10am-12pm)
Sent recruiting emails to female athletes in all states that run 300 hurdles.
Day 4: Sept. 2, 2022  (11-1pm)
Meeting with players on the track team. Discussing what their goals are for the season, how is their bodies feeling, etc. Asking what is the best event for each, what works best for them. Discussing physical and paper work, Title 9.
Day 5: Sept. 7, 2022  (11-1pm)
Discussion about physicals and insurance forms, so athletes can practice Hurdle mobility. Explained and scheduled Yoga meetings for all sprinters. 
Day 6: Sept. 8, 2022  (11:30-1:30pm)
We talked about team meetings and paper work. He shared with me next week's workout plans.
Day 7: Sept. 14, 2022  (11-1pm)
Recruiting board; 70 kids recruiting. I took one to get a SCAT test. Talked to trainers about medical paperwork to get them cleared. 
Day 8: Sept. 15, 2022 (11-1pm)
Filled out paperwork for an official visit. Talked about practice and workouts for the day.
Day 9: Sept. 16, 2022 (12-2pm)
Helped set up practice long sprints; had 600. Short sprinters, 300, teach them how to lift (squat, bench, and dead lift). 
Day 10: Sept. 19, 2022 (2-3:30pm)
Set up for practice; hurdles and acceleration drills.
Day 11: Sept. 20, 2022 (11-1pm)
Talked to one of our teammates about starting track practice. Passed out track shirts. Worked with another coach about practice log. Workout - spit into 6 teams, relay race. 
Day 12: Sept. 27, 2022  (1:30-3:30pm)
Coach Lane and I talked about the athletes and how they looked so far. We then set up for todays practice; cones, weights, and tires. I participated in the practice and added input where I thought necessary. 
Day 13: Sept. 28, 2022 (11-1:00pm)
We had an official visit from from an athlete from the Bahamas. It was very interesting talking to him and him sharing what sports are like there. We reached out to freshman about the NCAA clearing house and its expectations. We also talked deeply about our standards for recruiting people. 
Day 14: Sept. 30, 2022 (12:30-2:30pm)
We set up practice for Tempo Day. This was the hardest workout of the week. I then spend time in the weight room teaching Olympic lifts. 
Day 15: Oct. 4, 2022 (11:00am-3:00pm)
Helped Mr. Lane and the track coach set up a hotel reservation and car rental for an official visit from a female athlete from Texas. Maxed out on power cleans and bench press; tested overhead shot put.  
Day 16: Oct. 5, 2022 (11am-1pm)
We set up the timing system with Dasher. We are testing flying 30s and the men are maxing in the power cleans and bench.
Day 17: Oct. 12, 2022 (11:00am-1:00pm)
We spent quite a bit of time looking over high school transcripts of athletes. We also spent time looking over donations for each athlete. 
Day 18: Oct. 13, 2022 (11:00am-1:00pm)
Today we encountered an official visit from outside athletes. They were given a tour, explained Tiffin's programs, and had a question and answer period. It reminded me a lot of all of the official college visits I was fortunate to go on when I was being recruited for college, and again my official visits to Tiffin University upon college graduation. I hope the athletes came away from the visit feeling good about what they saw, what they heard, and what awesome programs Tiffin University has to offer both athletically and academically.  
Day 19: Oct. 14, 2022 (10:00am-3:00pm)
I helped Coach Lane send out recruiting emails to the top women in the country. I learned about the different sprint/hurdle events. We discussed and planned practice for the day. We reviewed test results from this year vs last year. 

Day 20 Oct. 15, 2022 (10:00am-3:00pm)

We sent out recruiting emails to some of the top females in the country. I learned more about the different sprint/hurdle events. We discussed practice plans for the day. We also reviewed test results from this year vs last year. 
Day 21 Oct. 17, 2022 (12:00-5:00pm)
Today we set up practice; work on block starts, medicine ball work, circuit weight room cleans, ABS-planks
Day 22 Oct. 18, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm)
Today we met with Kelly Daniel. She is the Assistant VP for Athletics, SWA, and Director of Compliance. We discussed athletes eligibility. It was very interesting conversations. For practice today, we set up and ran Tempo runs. 
Day 23, Oct. 19, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm)
Today we set up hurdles for practice, and did hurdle drills. I practiced these drills but found I was a bit rusty. We had a visit from one of the fastest girl runners around Tiffin. I got to show her around and let her watch the practice. I answered any questions she had, and we shared experiences as athletes. 
Day 24: Oct. 20, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm)
Today I was taught how to set up and use the electric timer. Did 30 an 40 start out, the blocks. Weight room workout: snatches, step ups, pull ups, dumbbell rows, 3 sets of planks. 
Day 25: Oct. 21, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm)
Today I helped set up practice which consisted of hurdle drill, hard workout 300, 2nd group 250. Weight room workouts were: squat, deadlift, hamstring curls, hanging knee raises. 

Day 26: Oct. 24, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm)

Today I was given the opportunity to teach starting blocks, curves. In the weight room, athletes worked on cleans, bench pree, box jumps, hurdle hops, medicine ball, circuit abs,circuit with planks.

Day 27: Oct. 25, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm)

Hurdles today were: 2 over 3, 2 over 4, and 1 over 5. Main group did 200 tempos. We then held a team meeting about the rules for Thanksgiving and Christmas (practice, training, etc.). 

Day 87: Oct. 31, 2022 (11-4pm)

Today was a Halloween practice, dressed up athletes were allowed; no one would let me take their picture today though. We worked on block starts on both curve and straight., and

completed acceleration drills over the hurdles. In the weight room, worked on clean benches, a medicine ball circuit, and planks for core. 

Day 29: Nov. 1, 2022 (11:am-4:00pm

We had a girl visit from Columbus, Ohio. I showed her the school campus, indoor and outdoor track. I gathered all of the information for her medical waiver. Practice todady consisted of a hard and long workout. Mix of 400's and 200's.

Day 30: Nov. 2, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm

Today, Coach Lane and I went out to lunch and we discussed career plans on track. Then we taught the hurdlers how to jump over 5 hurdles. We then took the rest of the group to yoga and ice baths. I shared my experiences with how icing helps me with injuries and the benefits of it with ankle soreness I am presently experiencing. 

Day 31: Nov. 3, 2022 (9:00am-2:00pm)

I had the opportunity to sit in on an interview to hire a new coach. I talked to Coach Lane and the head coach about the history of track, and their experiences as runners and coaches. We talked about places for outdoor meets. Today's practice was block starts, medicine ball circuit, and practiced 4x4 hand offs.

Day 32: Nov. 4, 2022 (9:00am-2:00pm)

We worked on starts, 200m races, and 400m races. We put eveyone into teams and had them run 4x4 relays Also, we had a high school male athlete visit.

Day 33: Nov. 7, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm)

Today there was a coach meeting; talking about the first meet next month. Also, we talked about kids camp that will be happening on Wednesday. We set up for today's practice: block starts 400 runners, got block starts on curve. Everyone else did straight away block starts. Weight room: cleans, bench and hurdle hops, planks for abs. 

Day 34: Nov. 9, 2022 (9:00am-2:00pm)

I had the opportunity to sit in on a meeting about kid's eligibility. We went to the embroidery store in town to get logos put on all the coaches gear. We discussed practice plans for the week:, and  went over kids camp structure for next week. We had our two practices today where each group had their hardest workout for the week: Short sprinters had 250/200/150/150, Long sprinters had 400/300/300. 

Day 35 Nov. 10, 2022 (10:00am-2:00pm

Today we went over the recruiting list and checked up on the recruits. We reached out to our trainers and went over the injury report. We scheduled some visits for the net couple of weeks. Practice: team stretch and abs circuit. Weight room: squats, deadlifts, dumbbells, lunges, and pull ups. 

Day 36: Nov. 11, 2022 (11:00am-4:00pm)

Today we went over financial aid and talked about student FAFSA. We set up blocks for practice; block starts and long sprinters. We set up exchange box drill for 4x4. We then discussed the importance of nutrition with the group. We had a high school visit for a female athlete who sprints.

Day 37 Nov. 12, 2022 (9:00am-2:00pm)

We had team bonding by playing knock out as a team. Body weight circuit, medicine ball circuit. Had a male and female athletes xisit. 

Day 38 Nov. 14, 2022 (10:00am-3:00pm)

Today we had a visit from a female recruit from Kentucky. We did some testing today: everybody did an overhead shot put throw 3 times to see how far they could throw it. In the weight room, we did cleans, bench, hurdle hops, medicine ball slams, weight set-ups, and planks.

Day 39 Nov. 15, 2022 9:00am-2:00pm

Today we had a visit from a track athlete from Columbus. Throughout the day: standing long jump tests. We also went over class schedules.

Day 40: Nov. 16, 2022 9:00am-2:00pm

Two high school visits today, both females.I put in the receipts for credit card. Set up laser for flying 30s, set up hurdles for hurdle walks, team stretch, and team ice bath. 

Day 41: Nov. 17, 2022 12:00-4:00pm

Today I helped with recording receipts for the credit card account. I was shown the various ways to look for scholarship money. I helped set up practice for flying 30s.

Day 42: Nov. 18, 2022 10:00am-3:00pm

Today we finished up the rest of the credit card receipting. We reviewed the coaching gear order. We had a visit with a female athlete from Ohio. Practice: Everybody did a timed 300 run. 

Day 43 Nov. 19, 2022 (8:00am-1:pm)

We had a harder workout today; short sprinters had two 200s and two 150m, long sprinters had 350, 300, 250, 200s. We also had a medicine ball circuit.

Day 44 Nov. 21, 2022 (9:00am-2:00pm)

We made an outdoor track schedule for the whole year. Practice throughout the day; block starts, lifts. We also sent out emails to recruits. 

Day 45 Nov. 22, 2022 (8:00am-1:00pm)

We again had a harder workout today:  repeated the sprints from Saturday 12/19/22.

Day 46 Nov. 28, 2022 (10:00am-3:00pm)

Today we spoke with athletes about NCAA forms to fill out. We held a staff meeting in Findlay and talked about the meet next week. Practice: block starts and then lifting after.

Day 27 Nov. 29, 2022 (12:00-5:00pm)

Today we did team bonding since it was my last day. We played knock out. I met with each athlete and we talked about goals they have and I helped them set them (long-term and short-term).
